Design study

Forma Studio

A minimalist portfolio experience focused on visual storytelling.

Overview

The brief: an interior design firm in Penang working on homes and boutique hospitality. Its clients buy on feel, so the site had to communicate materials and mood.

Design challenge

Interiors are about texture and light, which flat web layouts can flatten out. The site had to let each room breathe while guiding visitors from inspiration to a consultation booking.

Design direction

Soft sand and clay tones with arched frames that echo the studio’s signature doorways. Projects are told as short visual stories: before, material palette, finished space.

  • Clay#C9A88A
  • Umber#4A3A2E

Light serif for headlines, generous line spacing for short captions.

Website screens

Mobile screens

The layout was designed for phones from the start, not squeezed down afterwards. Navigation, key actions and the most important content sit within easy reach.

Key features

  • Visual stories

Each project told in three steps: the brief, the materials, the finished room.

  • Material palettes

Swatches shown alongside photography so clients see the thinking.

  • Consultation request

A short form that captures room type, budget range and timeline.

Final result

A calm, image-first portfolio that makes the studio’s taste obvious within seconds and turns interest into consultation requests.
