Design challenge
The content is research: policy history, design principles, case studies and a full reference list. The site had to make a dense subject easy to follow for any reader, without losing the sources that make it credible.
Design direction
A calm, editorial page. A full-width photograph of grass-roofed houses and a large serif title open the site, so visitors grasp the subject before reading a word. Long-form text is set in a readable serif, hand-drawn green sketches explain each roof type and principle, and every photo and diagram carries its source.

A classic serif for the title and long-form reading, small spaced capitals for section labels.

From the client
“The design is good. I like the hero section, where we can see the overall idea of what the website is all about. It’s simple, but it conveys the idea perfectly.”
